I wanted to demonstrate how this type of a look can be achieved. I have done this look a bunch of times outside of DPC myself. It is a common look when photographing athletes or for commercials. Most of the time (not always) the subject is extracted and inserted into an environment that was shot separately. Glad most people found this useful.

Strips are perfect for this! I use them exclusively for this type of lighting. Nice explanation and nice outcome.

Thanks! Yeah, the strip-banks are great. They give me a very narrow tunnel of light especially with the grids on. For some odd reason, the grids are more expensive than the strip bank softboxes themselves. I always leave the grids on. Congrats on your blue! Oui, c'est moi.

Thanks Allen for the great information, especially regarding the stripbanks. They sure work beautifully. Also this shows that you also are a great studio photographer, I really admire your versatility. Congratulations on the ribbon!
