 A Phalaenopsis orchid, one of the most common and easily cultivated orchids for the home. This one is a Philippine hybrid.

Post processing included autolevels, contrast/saturation, tweaking of color balance (toward magenta and red), resize and unsharp masking. Note that when applying the USM and then saving this, I followed EddyG's excellent tutorial for using Photoshop for DPC.

A little bit soft. Did you shoot this handheld? A tripod would have helped a lot to get it tack sharp.

I like your composition, but it seems detail was lost in the large white petals in the upper part of the frame. It also seems that the lower center is out of the depth of field, so it would be good to stop down the aperture a bit.

Could have used more DOF and more light. The underexposure makes for a grayish appearance.
