This "little" fall is part of the High Shoals Falls @ South Mountain State Park in (actually South of) Morganton, NC....here are some other pictures all from the same river. We would like to go back and explore this again after a nice rain fall...with all the boulders around it would/could be quite impressive...

Dumb me...as I rock hopped/stepped out to the middle of this stream just as I got into position - plop...there I go falling on some nice large boulders...got quite the bruise on my leg as a reminder of this little excursion.

this last one was WAY, WAY, WAY up above the falls it was quite a hike (straight up) and after a good rain could well be a beautiful place to visit.
