Aha! Mr Pink! This is rubbish - good day to you.
Nah - seriously it's got its just position and those comments below are spot-on, but to reiterate:
> Colour and composition are excellent
> Dangling leaf is quite distracting, although it's also quite a charming imperfection which shows that the flower'e energy has gone into where its needed - ie, looking pretty to bees, etc.
> Detail is very clear
> Centre of flower is a touch grey from midtone dodging
> Surrounding sky area of flower is also a bit too haloed for my taste.
Overall - it's a proficient image which looks very strong on the front page.

Congrats on another top 10 finish JP.
This leaps off the page with some breathtaking
color and contrast. Simple & effective.

It has a lot of impact but it lacks some detail in the middle because it is so dark. Either Dodging that area or using the new Shadow/Highlight filter in PS cs would do the trick in bringing out that shadow detail. Great composition and colors.

Nice use of the burn tool. This is a nioce caputre as well, although it is also a very commong sunflower photograph. It would be interesting to see more of the plant or a different angle as this is also a fairly common angle for photographing this type of flower.
The color is very rich and quite attractive as well. I could see this in a small frame on a desk or someplace similar. |

| Nice shot, but that droppy leaf is quite a distraction. I know you probably wanted to give this the most natural look possible, but the leaf doesn't help. Maybe if you had a one or a few on the stalk. Beautiful colours. |

| Great picture. I love the contrast between the flower and the sky. The drama behind the flower, yet the obvious sunlight that still lights it. And the little hanging leaf for some reason just completes the picture. Hope you do well! |

| Your composition is an idea which has been tried many times, but you managed to make it work. My eye is drawn to the simplicity and beauty suggested here. The lone leaf hanging from the flower is the only weakness, IMO, but maybe it also adds a bit of interest. Nicely done! |

| I think the subject is very standard, colors a great, but don't like the halo around the flower or the dead leave hanging down, middle of flower is too dark. Overall still attractive though. |

| Great sunflower image, seems a bit heavy on the dodge and burn, Im seeing too much of a halo effect around the flower that seem very unnatural, Good job! |
