I had thought about this shot for a few days before finally having time to shoot it. I only got things dialed in soon enough to get two useable frames before the rain clouds ruined the light. But this image is very close to the one I had in my mind, I was very pleased with how it came out.
Oh, and.... Go Flaming Pixels! ;)

I saw this in voting and was instantly impressed. I'm very happy that it ended up placing as it did, as I feared it would be another of the shots I'm keen of that fails to excite the voters.
I think it's the vivid colors that really separate this visually. The intensity of the colors with the drab concrete takes a largely dull and dead scene and invigorates it.
