Photograph Information Photographer's Comments
Challenge: Neon (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Minolta DiMAGE 5
Location: Davis, California
Date: Aug 11, 2004
Aperture: Auto
ISO: 100
Shutter: 2 Seconds
Galleries: Cityscape, Interior
Date Uploaded: Aug 13, 2004

Taken in Davis, California, I was enjoying the downtown lighting after dark. In this image, I particularly like the way the perpendicular plate glass windows (the one through which I am shooting, and the opposing wall) play with the reflections.

Wow. nice colors. The blue clock jumps off the page!

The clock is too far away to see if it is supposed to be the main focus of this photo. Just trying to help.

Not dramatic enough. Is there some way you could make the chairs appear to be dancing?

soft focus, nothing really grabs my attention

Original idea - good lightinting and shadow. I'd have liked to have the neon (is that a clock?) a little more overt to fit the challenge topic better.

While there is some neon in this composition, the focal point seems to be more about the arrangement of the chairs and the mood of closing time. The neon clock in the corner is just a small detail that actually distracts the eye in a negative way from the main composition.

I think a tripod would have helped this image - it feels fuzzy all over.

nice picture, but I think needs a little bit of focus
