 I laid on the ground at this wonderful young lady's feet with camera in hand-set at f/22 for maximum DOF and to get a starburst effect from the sun. I held a 430 EX II Speedlight outstretched in my left hand with the 60D running E-TTL wireless flash dialed in to -3.

Imported into LR3 where some basic edits were done, then into CS3 for Unsharp Mask.

I'm not sure why this didn't do better, but I'm happy that I got my first entry without any "1" votes (my #1 goal for 2011).

the eye draws to the top corner and the sun, beautifully back lighting the girl cradling her arms.

I love how the sun is hiding behind a cloud and just giving off a beautiful glow. The angle isn't traditional, but it's still flattering.

Special shot and good use of reflector it appears. Typical star burst flare albeit subtle and not excessive.
