 Camping in Medicine Bow National Forest was a treat. The wildflowers were incredible, with columbines seemingly lining lakes and indian paintbrush making its appearance throughout hikes. Also, a mountain lion was spotted by my parents one morning, making the trip all the more exciting...

The red glow on the rock and stump is from our campfire, btw.

BTW, it seems this is not obviously a long exposure. 45 sec. is the shutter speed... It was taken about 20-30 minutes after sunset.

could have been a bit better, compositionally (too much dead space at the top), the exposure suits it.

I would have really liked to see some of the sparks from the campfire skirting through the scene. That would have brought some extra life to the photo in my mind.

Hmmm.. It's a nice shot but not really obvious where the long exposure is.
