Just so you know, I shot this with a broken cam. And that's LED on the black building, not halo. Ok?

A few weeks ago, my camera was hanging by its sling strap by my side when i accidentally swung it and caused it to bump a nearby table. I tried to stop the action but in the process, was only able to grab the strap, changing the angle of impact. The lens got protected but the back portion of the body took the blow. The impact was not that hard, but hard enough so that its function button got removed, and the chimp button got stuck. It's still working but now, without the function button, I have to poke my camera with a paper clip wire every time I want to change some settings, so meanwhile, my WB, flash, color profile and other settings were fixed to optimal. My ISO is at 400. Yesterday, i decided to bring the camera to the shop for repair.

On the way to the repair shop, i saw this scene. Yeah, like i haven't seen it and shot it for a hundred times. I put my camera on top of the river's concrete barrier to stabilize the shot. I did not bring my magic paper clip wire with me so i could not bring the settings menu up and bring down the ISO. I shot a night scene long exposure at ISO 400. Hehehe. And with no chimp button, i only had to rely on the five-second auto image preview to check my shot.

Here's a panorama I did with my other camera before the challenge was announced.

I apologise to the border police. Im stuck at this place called singapore where every square inch is part of a concrete urban jungle. I wanted to join the rural challenge but the only way to see anything rural is to bring my passport and drive accross the border to malaysia. Hence the border :)

Im sorry about the title. It's a play on people's mind, checking to see how much role a title plays on how one rates an image.

So after this experiment, i therefore conclude:

Having a good title does not add points. But having a bad one sometimes does, negatively, on some people :) How many ponts, i do not know. But some manage to appreciate the photo for what is and what it offers to their eyes, and who knows what other senses.

Thanks guys for your participation in my little experiment.

No. It's not OK to affect ratings with irrelevent information. Regardless, it's a nice picture. The balance of colors is pleasing, the oversharpening is not excessive, the highlights are not blown, and the halos in the rest of the image imply that the lighting on that building are just that. All that is needed is an appropriate title.

The shot speaks for it self. No need explain anything. It's a nice shot, and I like to colors.

Probably would have scored this one higher had it not been for the title.

Lol! Very creative title for the picture :D
For a broken camera, the picture is super crisp. I now see your concern about people thinking it's a halo. Beautiful colors on this and lots of detail. The water is more interesting though - the left side is showing signs of long exposure smoothening and the right side isn't. I'm guessing this shot is done at less than 5 seconds of exposure?
The white/black border is a bit too bold, and the picture might've presented itself fine without it.

Lol at your informative title! I think this shot is stunning. And you shot it with a broken camera! Maybe I should go break mine.

The wide angle adds an interesting barrel distortion to the composition - The lighting and color is very nice.

Nice shot, spoiled by a completely unnecessary title.
