To answer some of the questions.. This is a bridge in Catawba North Carolina. This is not the bridge from the movie Stand by Me, I just named it that because it reminded me of the movie. I had another version where I had the top white area cropped out but deicded to go with this one. Thanks for all the nice comments.

Voted eralier, returning for comments.

Now, this is a cool subject for this challenge. I would have preferred more sharpness. bumping from 5 to 7.

I live the grain and the old time feel. Looks like an old 20's photo. Welld done.

Very grainy - I think it makes it look like a vintage photo. Unfortunately some will mark it down because it is grainy. The phot would be better if the rails or sides were more highlighted or clear at the far end.

I love that this photo feels and looks like it was takenYEARS ago.

The superstructure makes this more than your usual tracks into the distance shot. As I moved the picture down in my browser, I cut off a lot of the foreground, and the first set of girders formed a great frame. I think cutting it there would be a great improvement - but a great shot anywayt.

In my humble opinion, if you would have cropped out more of the top portion (gotten rid of that white space) of the shot you would have a much more dramatic presentation.

I like the 'old' look of this photo. I think it adds to the effect. Glad there were no trains coming your way!

I really like the grainy/contrasty look of this image. Great choice of subject matter, definetly reminds me of King's book/movie. 10

I really like the old feeling to this shot.. Although the flare around the sky at the top is quite distracting.. I'd be tempted to wander back there with lower light and re-take this shot for my wall.. Well captured simple shot. Ignore the folks who complain about the noise/grain, it looks great.

Named after a good movie, sepia tones make it look like stock pictures from a new railway company in the '30's. Simple, I like that.

I really love this picture. The railroad tracks are a popular theme, but you've made it different & striking looking.

Excellent. You have taken an obvious approach but added just enough interest to break away from the pack. This should do well.

I was just looking at old photos of my great grandparents and I was thinking to myself, "why do people take in their old photos to get redone? I think the old ones look better and I try hard to recreate this look with new photos." You did a better job than I have ever managed to. Congrats on a great image. 10
