The flowing water is gorgeous and the perspective is very nice. I like the way the whole image seems framed by the logs/roots? at the bottom.
I think your downfall here is the fact that the overall image could have some more clarity and sharpness, and a lot of voters will compare this image to this one: [thumb]970551[/thumb] (I hope that shows up since that picture is in voting right now as well) and by doing so, yours will lack that dramatic, oomph factor.
ETA: It seems like the image doesn't show... it's the one named "Forest Water" in this months Free Study challenge as well. |

Whenever I see cascading falls, the picture I think of is this:
The falls are nicely framed in this one with a natural border all around.
But the falls being busy only to a quarter of the picture leading out of the frame, leaves the rest of it quite empty of action and unable to support the main subject well. I don't know how the terrain is and if you could get any closer, but filling up a majority of the frame with the cascading falls would've wowed me. Good luck. |
