 I bought the glass ball a few months ago, I could not resist it even though it cost $11. It's resting on an upside down martini glass in front of blinds. I mounted the blinds in my basement "studio" because I can't always count on bright sunshine behind my window blinds. 2 flashes behind the blinds, compose it on an angle for a more interesting shot and that's that.

I realize some people think these glass shots are "soul-less" or meaningless, but I love photographing glass and seeing all the shapes, designs and colours.

Wow I have not seen a "glass" shot before but really like the way the glass ball and glass bend the stripes. That is awesome makes the shot.

Superb shot Karen and I'm with your thoughts on glass - I'm always looking through glass objects when I'm out shopping (especially in charity shops) just to see whether there's a shot to had through the glass. You've got it off to perfection! Congratulations...

Karen I love your glass shots!! I've made you a fav for that reason. I have a collection of glasses myself and one of these days can only hope to be as creative as you in taking these shots. To each his own I say!

As far as "soulless" goes, this one has a lot more going for it than the usual glass shot IMO. So whilst I'm in the camp, generally, that thinks the glass shots are overdone, this one does stand out for me, and it does deserve its placement, IMO. Great job! Congrats!

Kind of abstracky, but orderly. I like how the curvy stem breaks up the straight stripes. I see this in a KarenNfld style... Pretty cool.
