| fascinating collection of images and textures in this creation - the eye with the perfect catch light is watching over the sentient beings who live in the water and under the rocks, keeping them safe from the people in the house. Thank you for the story. |

take me to the river
where the water runs cool and deep
and rocks poke up
showing their craggy heads
and laughing when they bruise my feet
take me to the river
where I see distance dwellings
with cornbread in the pan
and trout in the skillet
with their smells wafting past
take me to the river
to baptize my parched skin
from the heat of the day
savoring the comfort of its
watery salvation |
