 I had been chasing a couple of blue butterflies for about an hour and had given up, since they were so active. But then on the way back, I spotted a location when a couple of them seemed to have settled down. I came back after dinner and they were still there and they didn't mind me at all :)
I have adjusted the exposure a bit, added a high pass filter in photoshop (set to overlay at about 40%), added a bit more blue to the top and adjusted a few minor things.

I think this is a Brown Argus (Aricia agestis), but a bit difficult to see when it closed up.

I can't think of a better way to compose this... everything is perfect from background to subject placement to leading lines, sharpness, color.... this should win something... can't I give it an 11?

gorgeous colours, when i think pastels i think pinks, purples, blues and yellows but this is beautiful, well done

We don't think of butterflies as having any weight, but this image shoes us that they sure do. Very interesting and lovely.

My eyes are drawn to the top of the plant above the bend.I would have cropped here, nice use of "a light, pale tint of color" on the subject......6
