 Saw an add in a magazine very similar to this shot all in B&W except the feet were'nt crossed. I wanted to convey more emotion by simply having are toes touch.

I was going to submit a B&W but I didn,t feel that the feet stuck out enough so I desaturated the top layer then erased where the feet are to get the color from the bottom layer. I then desaturated the bottom layer until just a hintof color showed.

The DOF wasn't shallow enough for me so I blured everythig but the grass and feet.

I reallllllllllllly like this shot and hope to make the top 10. :-)

love the muted colours :) it looks very much like what i wrote about in the forums a few weeks ago. nice application of a technique, however you did it.

Good use of selective de-saturation. I would prefer the de-saturated area a little softer, I think.

A very attractive visual with good title and good choice of desat. An interesting angle with subject clear and all else a complimentay out of focus background. Bumping from 5 to 6

I like the idea, but something about the textures of the flesh is really off-putting - perhaps the contrast with the inky background or the composition???
