| I love how the title adds to the piece. Helps set the mood of a sorrowed pirate. I like how you included his tatoos into the portrait, to make him more of a ruffian. |

| this confuses me a little not quite sure what to think of the shot. It's well taken with great exposure and details and the processing is well done with good choices on the frame and toning |

| Held my hand up to cover half the face. Covering the beard gives the appearance of a young man. Covering the top it looks like an old man... Neat! |

Striking image, i have spent a lot of time looking at this image. Overall i really like it but i couldn't figure out what i didn't like. I don't like the patch over the eye as it is too vivid and the shape is not what i would consider an authentic patch. The processing is really good but i would like to see it in an earthy colour (im probably thinking too much of pirates and the Caribbean)
Like i say that's all that i could find to critique in what is an excellent image. |

| Interesting portrait - hair and beard tell very different stories! Love the lighting and the catchlight in the eye. Reminds of Louis' style of processing and tones. I don't know if the eye patch is distracting or making a statement here! |
