After looking a few hours for a scene with wildflowers in the foreground, I finally came upon this group of bright flowers growing along the river. I tried a few compositions, and this seemed best, and less cluttered. Rocky Mountain Nat. Park is amazing this time of year. I'm sure we'll see a few pics of elk in velvet here too...

Post processing (two image blend)?
Dodge/Burn---Shadows/Highlights---Brightness/Contrast---Vibrance---Hue/Saturation---Sharpen---

I went to great lengths to try and keep this how it actually looked when we were there. Any tips?

Thanks for all the comments! They all help me realize WHAT makes my photos better, and what makes then less pleasing. Unfortunately there was no way to show more of the stream while keeping the flowers in view, but I do see it would have added an 'inbetween' for the flowers and mountains...

Nice leading line of wildflowers and interesting lines all around. Good soft lighting too. Would've loved it more if the wildflowers color stood out - like an orange or a yellow. In this case it's a bit too subtle.

My initial impression is that it is a lovely scene but i feel the dramatic clouds are being wasted in a portrait setting and maybe orientating the shot in landscape would have been better. The eye is drawn right through the scene to the great backdrop i just feel there is too much grass in this orientation. Just my thoughts and i could be totally wrong.

I like how the blues of the flowers in the foreground are repeated in the sky of the background. The small hint of a river/stream near the middle helps give depth.

very idyllic, like how the flowers lead you into the picture, just the right amount of contrast on my monitor

A lot to look at in this. Love the flowers in the foreground and the clouds give the scene movement. Nice..

colours seem very washed out.

This is a solid shot. Everything works technically esp. in the background and it does too in the foreground but the flowers aren't the most memorable subject. Maybe adding that stream I think I see in the back to the mix would have added to the composition.

A kindda classic compositional shot.

What a beautiful use of that gentle foreground. I also like that peek of the stream meandering down. Beautifully composed and good processing - not overdone - very real. Overall very peaceful - and it smells good, too.
