 Shot at about 11:00 PM. The rock was lit by a bright moon. This is a combination of five exposures taken for noise control. The stars were manually aligned from each exposure so you can see some trailing at the edges where the wide angle provides more distortion. I wished I had the 16-35 there, but I only had the 24-105.

I'm really surprised to see this in the 5's. I had it pegged for a top 10. Can never tell what will nail the popular appeal.

This is a most powerful rockscape,craggy and towering and jagged reaching up to the Heavens in Bend and it is offset nicely by the serene blue of the night sky and the sprinkled starscape. Great landscape to linger over and back again.
