This is an old abandoned church from the 1700's it was burned during the Revolutionary War - Rebuild - then burned again in the Civil War by Sherman. It was never reconstructed.

It is called Old Sheldon Church.

Official History:

Sheldon Church has lain in ruin for more than 120 years. Its gable roof, pediment, windows, and interior have disappeared, but the classic simplicity of its design still remains. One of the first Greek-Revival structures built in the United States, Prince William's Parish Church, erected 1745-55, was once one of the most impressive churches in the Province. During the Revolution, the Patriots are believed to have stored gun powder in it. In 1779, when the British General Augustine Prevost invaded the Lowcountry, the church was burned by a detachment which according to tradition, was commanded by the flamboyant local Tory, Andrew Deveaux. Rebuilt in 1826, the church was again burned by Sherman's men in 1865. The ruins are nevertheless a picturesque site from which the visitor can visualize the grandeur of the pre-Revolutionary church.

I love this location. It is out in the woods/swamp all alone. Wonderful location for photo shoots it is my goal to be here sometime in the early, early am with fog/mist rising around the building...hope you enjoyed it.

Convert from RAW
Curves/Levels/Crop/Straighten
Moved to PSE8
Desaturated all the colors except the brick
Overlayed with SEP-2
Then I spent hours using erase/brush tool to expose the brick in the picture.
Topaz DeNoise
did another layer of SEP-2 to soften the B&W of the picture a little

This... is just really cool, and it doesn't look like you spent hours editing. It just looks natural (other than the desat).

A few general comments:
-What is SEP-2?
-I'm curious as to why you DeNoised twice.
-Do you have Topaz detail? I use it on shots like this, just to bring out a little more of the details in the trees & bricks. If you don't have it, maybe get a trial (or watch a video on youtube.. just search for it).

Really cool place.
