Challenge: Rule of Thirds in Blue (Basic Editing)
Camera: Nikon D5000
Lens: Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D
Location: placerville, ca
Date: Jul 17, 2011
Aperture: 5.6
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/80
Galleries: Macro, Floral
Date Uploaded: Jul 18, 2011

this is an outtake from the little before-work shoot i did for macro without flowers... obviously i am getting slammed in that because the seed heads of dandelions are a little too close to flowers for a lot of people... Understandably. It was a fine line I chose to walk and I obviously fell on the wrong side of it. No biggie!

I had a hard time deciding between the image I entered in that and this one though, so unless i get a chance to shoot the more conceptual idea i have in mind this arvo (possibly unlikely, with my two year old son!) this will be my shoehorn entry haha... an extremely weak example of RoT, and not even that blue HA!

(can you tell i just really wanted to try this... and was gonna damn well shoe horn it into everything i could! just be glad you didnt see a third one in the free study!)

There is something so captivating about fire. Great usage of the rule of thirds.

Great idea, great DoF. Love the photo. Would rate it even high but a little weak on the theme.
