First of all, I need to say thank you to all the people I harassed in the making of this photograph. I think I edited this 10 different ways, and for the life of me couldn't make up my mind.
--
Expectation:
Around the middle of the pack, probably around a 5.5. I think it's an easy image to pass off quickly-not appreciate the details, so the speed voters are gonna kill me, and those who stick around may or may not.
Not sure whether I'll get any backlash from people who don't value the street art culture.
--details:
50mm, f22, macro extension tube - 25mm.
Shot with two desk lamps and a piece of vellum. Black background is actually my computer speaker (how's that for a ghetto light rig?)
--
Post Process-
Raw Pre-sharpener,
SEP,
Curves adjustment, (to bring back the highlights a bit)
Sharpen via high-pass method - masked only on the nozzle.
Resized, SFW.

Well James you got higher than the 5.5 you were expecting and rightly so. The detail on the can is really good and the B&W was certainly better than the colour version.
Your lighting was pretty good and I'm being ultra critical here but the shot might have needed a bit more light right on the top of the nozzle so that the eye could be drawn up and down the shot - currently I feel the eye just wants to look at the metal can only.
Keep it up. |

B&W works perfectly for this photo. I like the dark drip on the can, adds more interest to the photo. |
