I suppose this didn't do better in a macro challenge because it isn't super-sharply defined. I think it is quite beautiful (gave you a 9)

nice approach resulting in a great pattern and warm colours :)
The center of the citrus fruit makes a nice difference with the surrounding flesh.
Isn't this a South-African fruit similar to a tangerine?
