shot in dynamic black and white. I think it brought out the character and contrast better than colour would have. they are guarding a small nest in the process of construction in the hole on the top of a flourescent light fixture in the greenhouse. got a shot of nest, too, by shooting blind as the fixture was too high else, showing 3 workers. these 2 were lined up almost dozing as I approached, and then, aware of me, they turned slowly as one, still aligned.

I adore these little faces. I know they're not really "faces" but they have that look. And they're different! Fascinating and lovely at the same time.
