Challenge: Vanishing Point (Basic Editing I)
Camera: Minolta DiMAGE Z1
Location: Bellingham, Washington
Date: Aug 5, 2004
Aperture: f6.3
ISO: 50
Shutter: 30 seconds
Galleries: Cityscape, Landscape
Date Uploaded: Aug 6, 2004

Took several tries at this shot over two nights, on a bridge overlooking the city. A lot of them didn't work out, being overexposed or underexposed. This may be my favorite, but I think I could've done better. Definitely would've liked less clutter as well, but I've just had my camera for two weeks! Comments please!

A nice idea but a bit over exposed and a bit too central.

I really like this kind of work. It takes precision and patients. It's amazing how the cars don't seem to be swerving. My guess this was done at about 1 to 2 second exposure. maybe it bit longer since the sky is beautifully lit up.

Nice idea, and nice perspective effect. I think you got the highlights over bright; the whole effect is too contrasty, particularly with the spillover in the center background.

the farther back this road goes the brighter it feels and the more distracting it feels, almost too bright? feels like I should look away from the vanishing poiint.

Great shot. unfortuately quite over exposed. It still works well though.

Too long an exposure, I would sugggest, burning out those light-trails too much, losing definition between the red and the white, letting the street-lighting doinate the image, and keeping unnecessary information, such as detail in the houses. Very very head-on composition doesn't add much to it either, for me. 4
