 WOW what an incredible week that was. if i didn't break my update button then, i never will. thanks for all the wonderful votes and comments, i'm just floored by the support i've gotten on this image. especially proud to have pulled this off with a point and shoot, makes me feel like i'm learning how to use it well despite it's limitations.

now the heartbreaking wait for validation, although besides some light topaz and hue/saturation tweaking, nothing else major done to the original.

thanks dpc for the thrill!

ETA - i want to thank everyone for their comments on my image...but don't want to spam everyone's mailbox, so i'm hoping at least some of you will come back for another look and see this. the ride was great for the week but the reaction after rollover has been overwhelming, i truly appreciate the time everyone took to leave a comment, it's made the achievement that much more special to me, thank you.

well, look at you...I recently found out that these spiders are called "Golden Orb Spider" I had always thought they were Banana Spiders...great job...

WOW! Major congrats on the image first of all, and then that smokin' score! Talk about smashing your old personal best. :)

AND you did it with a point and shoot - no other top 20 finisher did that. AND you now solidly own your camera's top-scoring images page.

I'm so sorry you didn't win a ribbon! I was watching the scoring thread all week seeing how excited you were about having such an unbelievably high score. Any other challenge and that kind of score would have likely won blue for you. The picture is amazing! And the first of many 7's for you I bet.
