 17 year periodical cicada in Ponderosa Pine. This is of interest to me because these insects are not known to have been seen in the Colorado mountains in the past.

This brood has a 17 year life cycle. Previous appearance was 1994. Will next be seen here in 2028. Makes for a rare sighting. //en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Periodical_cicada
