I think you conveyed the impossibility of adequately juggling study, social life, and bodily survival. I gave this a 7 the first time around.

I'm bothered most by the glare on the forehead, partly for the loss of detail, but more because I think it's a little inconsistent with the theme you're propounding. If the subject is falling asleep while studying, I expect a dim, late-night type of look. I suppose it could be early morning before the big exam, but it seems too bright for that.

Either the late-night or morning look could be partly compensated for and emphasized by putting into duotone mode instead of the current grayscale mode.

If you're not familiar with duotones, I'd be happy to post a couple of tests with your image -- send me an email.

I liked this photo a lot. I have to say that the glare on the forehead is a bit too bright. And the area in the upper right corner was a little too bright to. That said, sometimes I do find it ok if everything surrounding the subject is too bright as long as the subject isn't. I think you almost got that minus the forehead. The composition is well done. The picture meet the challenge in my opinion. The focus was good, again I liked the photo and I gave it a 7.
Hope this was somewhat helpful. Happy Holidays!

I think there's too much unnecessary glare, even if you want to achieve a high-key photo of a low-key setting...I like the overal composition.

Perfect student shot! Nice lighting..maybe the tiniest bit too harsh on the rightmost side of her face.

LOL, reminds me of me. I have a Myers Psychology book as well. Would have been interesting to see what it would have looked like in color, but black and white works well too. 7

This is one of my favorites. The black and white is perfect. The light coming through the window illuminating your face is beautiful. A definite 10.
