The idea behind your shot is great but somehow I feel that you have fallen down in the post processing of your image. I am not sure whether it is in focus or out of focus—what colour it is—there seem to be so many colours in evidence on that twig that it could be multi reflections of something—in fact it is such a weird image that the imagination can run wild—and this is the fascination with your image—as you can see from peoples reaction to it. Your post processing has turned an image of an icy twig into an abstract shape.

Looks like a psychedelic caterpillar. Seems a little grainy to me. I like the black background.

So abstractly beautiful! Makes me think of the caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland.

Good use of your photographic eye. The little hornlike portion sticking up disrupts the flowing lines of the main part of your twig. I would also wonder what it was without your title, sometimes a title is necessary, but I like pictures better if they are self explanatory. Just my opinion.

This is a really cool idea. I am a little puzzled as to where the fantastic rainbow of colors is coming from, but freezing rain makes a bizarrely cool effect. To me, the colors seem strangely too strong, hense not a perfect score, but how about an 8? Swash

This composition and lighting is a good concept. Unfortunately, I feel that the photo suffers from over post processing.

Hmm... you're reaching for something interesting, but I feel as though the contrast here is too high, and the composition could do with some rethinking. Look at the negative space here... it isn't really doing anything to support the shapes of the twig and the icicles. The colours in the ice/water could have been brought up a bit better with some more work.

The shape here is quite interesting, but I'm not sure that I really like the lighting or the post processing or what may have been done to this photo... it looks a bit harsh... now that the size restrictions on this site have been practically removed, a tighter crop of your subject may work better? not sure... keep up the good work :) - setzler

An interesting shot, but unfortunately the highlights seem blown-out, which makes it very hard to work out that there's a twig inside the ice. Perhaps a softer light would have helped here.

A little tough to see what I'm looking at. I assume it is an ice-covered twig. What is the thing sticking up to the right? DPz

Christmas lights reflecting on the ice on the twig? Fantastic and unique. Great job.

Great job, I love the colours, and the black backround. I personally would have named the image "Tigger" or "Panther", but that's just me.

I would have prefered this moved up in the frame just a bit. I like the idea but the colors don't do much for me. =6

Bit over exposed...or too bright for my eye.

This might be a more effective B/W shot. The numerous colors and harsh lighting make it difficult to tell what the subject is. It could be a really slimy worm or something, but I don't think there's enough of an "icecicle-y" effect to give it that post-ice storm feeling.

The shot is interesting. I assume it's an ice covered branch. The background is nice, not distracting at all. the focus and clarity seem very well done. lighting is good as well. seems to be lacking something to really give it "wow" for me though. still technically very well done. good luck in the challenge.
