Thank you for the quote. I have just ordered The Collected Works of Wallace Stevens. I suspect the symbolism suffered from the audience's ignorance, like mine. The photo is certainly striking enough.
I am struggling with the knife, since
"This luscious and impeccable fruit of life
Falls, it appears, of its own weight to earth."
I suppose the knife is a supporting symbolism of death, but a violent one? |

I loved this one, and I meant to come back and comment on it during voting. This was in my top three. The textures and color of the apple are gorgeous. Is there a handle on that blade? If so I might have liked to be able to make it out a bit more. Perhaps my monitor is out of adjustment. |
