I'm temporarily living out in the country without TV, internet (only available when I go to work) or drinkable water. The only things I have to do are watch the birds, read and do jigsaw puzzles. I spend a lot of time with my camera trained at the feeders and the bushes nearby.
Best I can tell - this is a female Baltimore Oriole - I've never seen one before - only a male maybe once a year when they migrate thru. I remember seeing an Oriole nest hanging from the poplar tree in our front yard when I was a child. This one comes to the feeder every day to eat an orange - a very skittish bird. It's such a thrill for me to even get a decent photo of one - so yes, I can say without a doubt that this is the best picture I've taken this month (although my Red Breasted Grosbeak comes in a very close second)!
