Endeavor gains speed as it completes the "roll" for the last time, to position it correctly for the planned trajectory. You can see the smokeless exhaust from the 3 main engines on the orbiter in this shot. They burn liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen, so they make water vapor/steam, but no smoke at all.
