Greetings from the Critique Club --
amonteforte -- beautiful photograph for the Free Study challenge! Your model's eyes and skin tone are amazing! The lighting is fantastic. Focus on the subject is great, depth of field (DOF) is excellent.
The composition is also excellent. I like how you've placed the subject to the right-side of the frame. I might like to see the subject not so close to the top of the frame, but this is a minor point. There are a few distracting elements in your background (the horizontal blue lines, and the dark area in the lower left), but I feel this is also a very minor issue. You could minimize these elements with a few tweaks in Photoshop, if desired.

| I love the expression you caught! Very spontaneous, and full of personality. The photo is sharp, beautifully exposed and lit with soft, diffuse light. The DOF is great. You've pushed all the right buttons, so although the photo doesn't really grab me I still think it's objectively worth a high mark. |

| A very good portrait. Very good focus and color. The background seems less than wonderful, but it's not too aweful. Tiniest bit of glare on the back, once again, not enough to really affect your score, just letting you know. 8 Swash |

| This is a lovely portrait of a lovely child. Sharp with perfect lighting. It´s just the background - it´s a bit disturbing because it is so light. If it was allowed Photoshop could do marvelous job here. Overall a nice photo to look at. |

| Nice use of DoF, and the lighting is well balanced. However, the expression on the kid's face doesn't create any interest in the photo for me. |

| Unbelievable clarity and focus. I like the composition a lot. The only nit I have is that the way the sun is hitting the right side it really makes the hairs on the neck and ear stand out in an unwanted way. Really nice shot. DPz |

| The focus and clarity of this shot is amazing. The textures in his shirt, hair and skin are wonderful. The lighting was quite cooperative for you for this shot. angle and framing/cropping are great, and I only have one nit pick. There are a few horizontal lines cutting through his head and body. they are a tad distracting but this is still a very wonderful shot of the subject. good luck in the challenge. |

| beautiful little boy..nice focus. the only thing i would change is to take it with a different background. the horizontal lines have a slight distraction. being that it might not have been possible, you did a great job with the DOF to blur the background to a maximum. |
