Challenge: Once in a Blue Moon (Advanced Editing I)
Camera: Canon PowerShot G5
Location: Dallas Zoo Underzone - Inside building
Date: Aug 1, 2004
Aperture: 1/6th
Shutter: F2.8
Galleries: Nature, Animals
Date Uploaded: Aug 1, 2004

This scorpion actually glows bright blue in the dark. Unfortunately I was unable to achieve that shot because he was in an enclosed glass case. This shot was taken at the Dallas Zoo in the Underzone, using available lighting. I didn't use any flash or extra light source. It was shot through glass. The only editing I actually did was some cropping, sharpening and adjusted the hue to show how he looks when he glows.

Creepy to say the least. The only thing i dont like about this one is the fact that the claw closest to me is out of focus

I have a lot of trouble getting everything into focus in my photographs, so I don't know how to make a suggestion concerning the closer claw being a little blurred. Otherwise this is a very interesting photograph. I like the blue against the natural color.

Whoa, is that real? Pretty freaky. Good shot. The closest pincer is a bit OOF, it looks like the focal point was in the background, maybe you let the camera do autofocus using the center zone. So the DOF appears plenty deep, the focus just needs to be a little closer so the whole critter is crisp.
