hmmm... favorite??? well, It's a really tough call... I really do like to shoot wide so I'd lean towards the Tokina 12-24 used for the shoot, but all the lenses serve their purpose... I use the 35mm f/2D for all portrait sessions, the macro lenses for.. well macro shots,... ect...
They do all get used on occasion... =) |

I have to be honest here. I rated this picture low because when I first saw it I disliked it immediately. The subject looked so greedy I was turned off the whole picture. When I saw that it had won, I looked at it with new eyes and started to appreciate the technical expertise required to shoot the photo and began to realize the power of the photo. It conveys it's subject extremely well, so well that I still don't like the photo! If I can ever take a photo that is half as powerful as this I will be happy.

The grand total comes out to be just over 20,000 dollars. Yes, this is all from google so some may be a bit off with the pricing but it was a general idea.

hahaha... well... actually there is a Nikon 300mm f/4.5 MF lens on the table there =)
I also have a 400mm Tokina lens, but that one was too big...

I'm going to try and enter at least one pic every other week to stay in the game... I started a new job and it took me a while to get settled... now I have the time to focus on challenges again...

yea, I purposely aimed them inwards to give kind of animate them with the same expression as my face... as thought they were looking over my shoulders... I had always wanted to incorporate the umbrellas into a picture and I wasn't sure if they would cause any lens flare, and apparently they don't =)

I think the huge umbrellas behind you are perfect for this shot and a great idea. It's almost like two big eyes waiting, watching...to see who might be coming...to take your lenses!
But it also draws your attention down to the action in the shot. I wouldn't have thought of putting umbrellas there, but it totally adds to the picture. |

Congrats. What's funniest is it was taken through a Tokina AF 12-24mm f/4.0 AT-X Pro DX and not a Nikkor :) (BTW I also have one of those excellent Tokina's on my D90). |

What a great shot to represent greed! However, you get an extra point for the crystal clear image that must have been taken by a top range Canon with an L series lens creating envy for me as well :-) |
