I think it could use a slightly sharper focus. I like how it stands out against the background leaves. |

The first thing that I thought when I saw this was how droopy and 'dead' looking the Iris is. I'm not sure if that's the nature of the flower, and just a sign of how delicate it is, or whether it's actually on its way out.
I'm not a big fan of the composition, we're used to seeing flowers from a top-down perspective, so it's not as interesting as some other non-typical view points. This would look good with some more dramatic lighting, maybe a flashlight could be used to fake a sun ray or two?
The blues and the greens are nice, I think I would have tried to desaturate the warm background just a bit. |
