 I found this nozzle sticking out the back of a building while walking around downtown. I went out of my way to climb up onto a narrow 3-foot high concrete ledge to check out my prospective subject and get the proper angle.

I suppose that this image doesn't have too much mystery, but I liked the simplicity of the shape, with both straight and curved lines. I think this is only one of a few images I've ever captured with so much clarity, with interesting light, shadow, and texture.

I'm not super happy with the background, but it does have some nice variations and is somewhat neutral to the whole range provided by the main subject. A slightly tighter DoF would have blurred the background a little more, though going the other direction might have been good, too. I may have to go back and make a study of it. :)

Is the title too clever for my own good?

Very nice. My own personal preference would have been a vertical crop, straightened (maybe) and cropped a little more so the lightest portion of the wall (seen here on the lower right) was not in view.

This might be more effective if it was in portrait aspect. I like the idea though and well done shot.
