To each his own. I thought the glasses were a perfect touch but for one reason only. You can see the chin of the model and it appears to be bearded. Many may not have noticed this but I did and gray beard = wisdom and age, which is why the glasses worked perfectly. Reminds me of my grandpa working hard. This is what he looked like.

Frankly so was I. Part of the reason I de-satted the reds so hard was that the diagonal of red from staples box to plyer handles to saw blade, were too strong, and really dominated the composition. The idea was glasses and office supplies, pen in pocket- the business end of the business, upper left, construction part lower right. Im not sure how obvious that metaphor was, but its attempt looked bad enough that I covered up the office supplies and put away the glasses for the rest of the takes. On review is shot was the most interesting, though my daughter said the glasses made me look wimpy, and I find the office and plumbing stuff distracting.

great detail but I find myself wanting to see the face more than the tool belt. Especially with the glasses in hand - makes me think he's wanting us to see his face

The color and the processing fit the subject very well, though I wonder if the processing hast been pushed just a little too far because of the graininess/sharpening that borders on artifacting at this size. There is enough detail from the props between the shoulders and the knees that the viewer isn't wishing to see the face as a way of learning about the subject, which is exactly what you were supposed to do for this challenge.
