Best of show. The lighting and emotion this conveys, the dog in shadow always loyal and vigilant and the child looking at the wonders of the world for the first time. The dog will protect the child from the darkness.
A wonderful image with a story to tell of our lives just as wonderful.

Intriguing the way the left seems almost negativized and/or underdeveloped compared to the right side. And this works for this photograph.

This image is a bit dark, in my opinion. This could be exactly what you were going for, but I'd like to be able to see a little more of the beautiful details in the child and dog.

I really wish there was a little more light on both the girl and the dog! The scene is beautiful, but the two (dog/girl) are just a bit too much in the shadow for it to work (for me).
