I took this waiting for my husband to get out of gallbladder removal surgery. I was stuck in the hospital with him for 3 days, but I was able to sneak out and get my camera. The hospital has amazing views.

This is really beautiful. I love the fog. The trees make lovely borders.

Somehow I missed that you entered this one. Probably because I'm not overly fond of the style but I really like your shot and I'm not a fan of B&W.

Critique Club:

I'm really not a fan of Edward Weston for the most part so this is going to be tough for me. If I try to compare your image to his style I would say he had more contrast/darker tones though out his images. To me your image has little to much gray through out. Portrait style landscape works some times. I feel it didn't so much here. Reviewing it on it's own merit I think it's a good shot. I like the composition using the two trees to keep you focused inside the image. The b&w conversion is good. The bell curve score I feel pretty much sums it up. I didn't vote in this challenge. If I did it would had been a 6 mostly because there is no 5.5 button...Lol. All in all in my opinion it's a nice shot.......ace

almost ethereal in its feel - i think the long crop hurts you here and makes this feel less Weston like

More Courier and Ives than Weston. (not voting)

Very nice. I think Weston would have had deeper blacks.

That single hovering cloud is great.
