 Weston did actually take a few photos in strong sunlight with slashy shadows. The shadow was often part of the subject and the final product was less contrasty than this is.

In this image, I aimed to insinuate his twisted limb motif (root vegetables, human legs) and tried to match the tonal range of his famous pepper.

Thanks for the comments, several of them are much more positive than anticipated.

To me this does not look like any Weston photograph. It does, however, seems to capture some kind of Westoniness I can't substantiate. It seems like a shot Weston could have taken. Nice.

the interwoven limps is well seen - but the shadows seem to almost overwhelm

Definitely Westonesque. The type of photo of his that doesn't particularly appeal to me. But pulled off very well here. Very subtle bit of personification in the tangled branches. Very good for the challenge, IMHO.
