Some fun playing around with fruit. Was going to submit some pictures of my shower mixer tap which was in pieces over the weekend with seals everywhere. However, it wasn't looking very inspiring and I needed to get it back together pronto, so opted for this instead.

DIY background using slate place mats. Lighting was ambient plus flash held overhead, fairly close to the scene. Camera on a tripod.

Post processing included crop and some adjustment of levels etc.

Thanks for looking and any feedback

hmm the orange looks pretty sexual

Would have loved to see some seeds and maybe a couple of them opened, but I like the idea and seeing it being broken down to each component.

I might have taken it completely apart and shown all the segments.

an orange was actually my first idea for this challenge. I wanted to separate all the skin, the pulp, the seeds, stem, as far down as I could break it.

In this image: the leading lines of the bricks lead to the main orange, but the main orange seems a bit dark and underexposed, especially with the contrast of the pulpy pieces on either side of it. The big square line where you stopped cutting the peel seems unnatural. I wish it would have ended at a point or underneath. The orange slices not on the bricks seem distracting. they're not as formally interesting, and come off as sloppy in the otherwise very clean shot.

Nicely set up shot but I'm distracted by the marks on the black background (I know, basic editing).

The orange jumps out with the all black background. Well done.
