An emulation of Aspen Valley, NM, by Edward Weston.
Weston photographed several (or many) aspen grove scenes in New Mexico. My image is of aspens in Colorado. The deep blue Colorado sky allowed me to produce a lot of tonal range and eye-pleasing contrast. I will admit my image looks more like Ansel Adams, than Edward Weston. Also, I'm a big fan of John Fielder. This sepia monochrome is classic Colorado landscape.
btw, there was about 5' of snow under my feet at this location on March 24.

So, with only a few hours before voting starts, I think my image is a good entry. I presume it will be voted down because it doesn't look like Edward Weston. That's too bad! I gave a good faith effort to emulate his style .... and this is the result. Everyone has their own style. |
