This is a combination of two hand held shots. I went out to cast an angry glance at the cloud cover, and saw.....this. No time to set up the tripod so I leaned against the truck rack, shot the moon, a few times, spun the wheel to lower the EC and shot the clouds twice, then ...poof, no more moon.

BTW, I was pretty lazy on this one, the cloud layers is exposure and saturation shifted, but there is no burning or spot editing. If it looks over spot edited, blame the lousy cloud designers. Looking at it now, I should have softened the edge of the moon, it looks like an paste up job. |

Wow - what a surreal effect to have such a sharp moon in such a soft bed of clouds. The moon itself is notably contrasty with dark darks and bright whites. The burning in the clouds is pretty noticeable and somewhat heavy handed. A fascinating and original answer to the challenge. |

Very ethereal. We had clouds, so I have yet to see it. |

Beautiful. LOVE those clouds and the combination of pastel and stormy colors. (Not voting) |
