Oh man, you aren't gonna like me. I voted this a 5. I am not a big flower shot buff, but will vote high on those that stand out. I think the best thing you have going for you on this image is the color purple. That color as a unique feel to it. But the rest is just pretty blah. Not bad - just blah. No POW. No WOW. It is what it is and its just a picture of a flower caught on an angle filling the frame almost. The whites may be a bit too bright - makes the vignette feel a bit forced.

I guess this is more of what I am interested in knowing about this picture - what is it that you see in this image that compares to the flower images that score gangbusters at DPC? I don't ask this as a knock or to mock, but to better understand not only what you are seeing in this image but also what aspects you see in other images that you believe cause them to stand out and score well. To a certain extent their is a "formula" to winning images - not always but often. Does yours meet that formula? Are you positive as to what that formula is, which components are necessary and what components will spoil it?
