Librodo... I can't think of a better person to pay tribute to. He is my favorite photographer on DPC and one of my favorites of all photographers. He was the first photographer on this site that REALLY stood out to me and I've loved his work ever since. While this photo doesn't do justice to his work, it is still fun to try to emulate.
My daughter gave me about 2 minutes of her time. I was able to get off 4 shots, 3 of which the focus was slightly off on her eye, so this was the one.
My goal in this challenge is to do well enough that Manuel will read my comments, take a brief look at my portfolio at //chrisholtmeier.com , and offer a few tips and/or critiques.
My post processing was slightly more dramatic than my normal style, with darker blacks and richer colors... possibly a bit exaggerated from what Manuel would do, but I thought it better to go a little over than under to make the style stand out. Processing was done in Lightroom-- much dodge and burn to really bring out the eye, some additional sharpening on the eye, then save for web in Photoshop.
Manuel, thanks for years of inspiration and a portfolio of stunning images!

| Beautiful shot. I had this in the top 4 or 5. I am surprised it did not place much higher. Great colors and composition. Really nice shot. |

| i love the eyes! although i think that the editing done to the rest of the face is over done. specifically the lips and shadows in the face. but over all i think that you did well. |

| I think you pushed the reds on the lips too far and possibly also desaturated a color in there. Great image otherwise. |
