I love the pattern made by the sand? and the soil. That person is standing in a perfect spot. Looks pretty lonely. Pretty sad, nostalgic feel to the picture. |

Interesting composition with the human figure at right angles to the lines in the beach sand. |

I like the feel of it. Almost like a pen and ink. You cannot go wrong with a silhouette in my book. |

At first glance I thought the figure was standing still, and the photo had a profound effect on me. On looking more closely I see that the figure is actually walking across the 'wasteland' and the image loses some of its power. The photo that I want to see (with the figure standing stock still staring out of the back of the photo) is, perhaps, a statement about myself - a desire for the world to leave me alone, and yet at the same time an acknowledgment that such a solitary life would be intensely lonely to the point of pain. Not often a photo can provoke such strong feelings within me, even if they are based partly on the first impression rather than the reality.
marnet brings up an interesting idea of 'an expression' of reality. That is something I want to think about more. |

First Impressions: for some reason sadness (maybe because there is some blue) and being lost
Technique: I assume a normally taken photo with a dramatic PP in NIK? There is also some kind of special border used.
Suggestions: not sure
Overall it looks more like an expression rather than an impression of reality to me. Probably due to the dramatic texture effect. |
