 So. I had this great shot all planned out in my head. This is what resulted. The two are not every remotely related except for the fact there is a pair of shoes, and a beach.

I went to the thrift store and found the shoes - $4. Then I wanted to shoot them in the rain (it was raining!) and at the beach, maybe also in the rain. Got more than I bargained for. It was raining. Almost horizontally. Wind was howling. No one was out there. The storms had created a sand ledge about two feet high I had to get down. So there I am, trudging out to the pier, with my camera, tripod, umbrella, and a pair of old shoes. I'd set up the tripod, throw the shoes, hope for the best. Umbrella was on the wind side, so it was plastered against my person (and appeared in a shot or two.) I had a rock in one of the shoes but they'd still get washed away now and again. So then I'd hobble, with the tripod, camera (strap around my neck), and umbrella, and try to pick up the shoes and put them somewhere else I might want them.

I'm guessing if anyone was watching, like at the restaurant, they were quite amused. Somewhere along the line, in addition to getting soaked and cold, I also pinched my finger with the tripod and got a nasty little blood blister.

So even though this isn't quite what I had in mind, I'm entering it anyway. Hope you enjoyed the story!
