I do have to ask though, is the pink fleshy color what it looks like in real life? Cause my nutmeg tends to be a bit browner, perhaps yours is fresher? *shrug* Looks delicious. |

That's a cross section of either a mineral deposit, or caramelized chunk of soon to be something or other . . . maybe. |

First thought was slice of a brain, but closer look makes me think of half a walnut or some sort of pastry layered with jelly then folded intricately and cooked. |
