A very nice submission with excellent lighting. I'd suggest rotating the tomato so that the end of the stem was hidden. Water drops are a great touch.

No mistake here. The simplicity of shape and color without any background for distraction...Tomato, tomaato, or however you pronouce it...you've got my vote. I never tire of seeing the toutch of water added to a subject. Must be my aquatics background.

I love how you made it 'sweating.' Looks like a ripe tomato!

This is lovely. I really enjoy your use of lighting and shadow; The red really pops against the black. I'll be looking forward to learning how you set up this shot.

A very beautiful picture. Would love to see it printed. I think it would look even better if it was cropped slightly from the bottom. Great Work.

less texture in the background might have worked better

beautiful shot! great contrast, colors, lighting, focus. however, you do need to clean your sensor (see that black spot at the top just left of center). they only come out under slow shudder speeds or tight f-stops. (now, let me go out on a limb: you're shooting a rebel 300 and you change lenses frequently...) anyways, great job shooting, hope you place well.

Ahhh, the herb! Basil.... I was trying to make the link to 'Faulty Towers'. Nice still-life, the water drops really make this shot, IMHO.
