it looks at first glance like a succulent or a bromilead but that can't be right. maybe an artichoke? |

I'm guessing pomegranate seeds, and suspect that's why you desaturated the image. It's very nice in b&w. I like the composition and negative space. |

It's a small succulent. Perhaps a "Burrro's tail" if I am recalling the name of it correctly. |
